I got my start with Warbirds in 1991 when I joined the National Warplane Museum in Geneseo, NY, USA. I had the privilege of working on their airworthy PBY-6A, R4D-5, and B-17G "Fuddy Duddy". The official title of my job was "Crewchief". Job description is simple,...if the pilots get it dirty, you clean it,....if the pilots break it, you fix it!. The biggest incentive to do the job right? I'm "forced" to fly in these aircraft. I am presently one of the crewchiefs on EAA's B-17G "Aluminum Overcast".

It's a tough job,...somebody's got to do it.
